Social Group Therapy

At Ottawa ABA Academy, our Social Group Therapy program helps children and adolescents develop practical social and communication skills through structured activities and interactions with peers.

Our group sessions use evidence-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) strategies to teach children how to communicate, cooperate, share, take turns, manage emotions, solve social problems, and participate appropriately in group activities.

Our Social Group Therapy focuses on:

  • Communication and conversation skills

  • Making and maintaining friendships

  • Sharing and turn-taking

  • Cooperative play and teamwork

  • Understanding social cues

  • Emotional and self-regulation

  • Managing frustration and conflicts

  • Problem-solving

  • Following group instructions and routines

  • Building confidence and independence

Children participate together in structured group activities, games, discussions, role-playing, and peer interactions. The focus is on learning and practicing social skills as a group in a supportive and engaging environment.

Our goal is to help children develop meaningful social connections and the skills they need to participate successfully with peers at school, at home, and in the community.
